An Angel and Coffins

An Angel took me upstairs to look at a room full of coffins and the people that laid there.

As I glanced around some of them were closed and some open. I saw beautiful ones that were made with the utmost care and simple ones that suited the purpose but there wasn’t much there.

The angel took me through the rows and rows of caskets lying around and I glanced in one of the simple caskets with a soul that was heaven bound. As I looked I saw a glimpse into heaven and a saint that was worthy of their crown.

I saw them rejoicing with Jesus, and suddenly I wasn’t sad that they had to leave us. The joy came to even me and it was just a glimpse, that’s all I could see.

I saw mansions in the background, so many people rejoicing, overflowing with the glory of Jesus all around. I wanted to stay there longer but the Angel said, “It’s time to go now.’”

We walked on down the rows and I saw a beautiful casket with the most delicate engravings. I wondered about the person lying there and thought that they must have been rich and lived in wonderful magnificence.

The Angel grabbed me quick and warned me to not look in, but my curiosity was too much to resist and I took a quick peak in. I fell back within a few seconds of looking in.

Oh, what grief I was stricken with. I saw that soul dancing around violently in the horrible sulfur smelling flames writhing in pain. I wanted to reach in but I couldn’t. There just wasn’t a way.

That precious soul looked up at me with eyes wide that made my heart ache and screamed, “Don’t come to this place!”

I saw people I knew there and I heard them screaming. I saw their flesh on fire and the smell of it burning but the fire never leaving. Oh, how much I heard them screaming. It was so loud and so gut wrenching.

I heard people crying out to God and watched as the demons laughed in their face. I was overwhelmed from the fear emitting from that place and saw as the devil himself tormented each and everyone of them, giving no one grace.

The Angel finally pulled me back and the glimpse of hell had gone but I still heard the screaming. As I opened my eyes I realized that it was no longer the sound of those in hell screaming. The familiar voice I heard screaming was mine.

I walked away exhausted and in such pain as I thought the torments of hell that will never go away and the hope that I will see Heaven someday.
