You healed me when I thought it couldn’t be done.
You made a way for me when there was none.
You delivered me out of captivity, you did a work for me that can never be undone.
How wonderful you are, what amazing power you hold. You have everything in your hands, including my soul. You really are Lord and Savior of all.
But I started listening to what the crowd told, the whispers going around of claiming that you were the king of kings so blatantly. You did a work for me but the voice of the crowd made the miracles lose the wonder to me.
An imposter, a liar and a cheat. It doesn’t matter what you did for me. Let him be crucified, I scream.
As we chose Barabas, along with the crowd I scream. Let him be crucified, he is not worthy to live among people like me. Why did I believe that man and what he would speak?
But as we watched You die, it was something different entirely. Was there truth to what you would speak? You said, “Forgive them Father for they know not what they do”, but who are you talking to?
I watched you as you cried out, said the very last thing. I witnessed the breath come and leave and I wonder. Who is it that we crucified?
As we watched with delight as you suffered and died I wonder, did we just send the Son of God to His Father on high?
Did we just crucify the one who God sent for us to bleed and die and fulfill what has been prophesied?
Father forgive me. For I did not know what I would do. I denied the one who did something for me that no man could do. I did not realize that the whispers of the crowd weren’t true.
Forgive me Father, for I killed your son. Oh, God have mercy on me. Now I see that he was the Holy One.
